Welcome to Braille Forward: A Social Impact Movement for Tactile Literacy

Powered by Braille Gen, we are working to create a Braille Forward community by:

  • Educating the general public about the power and beauty of Braille

  • Advocating for normalizing Braille in public spaces

  • Giving back by developing 3D-printed resources to bridge the blind and sighted worlds

We ground accessibility and Universal Design values in people and relationships so that accessibility doesn't just become a "check the box" exercise. This approach allows for recognizing individual agency to highlight the significance of small contributions that each individual can make to create a more equitable and inclusive world.

Support Our Mission

Braille Forward began as an initiative of the Mountain Lakes Public Library Makerspace and has since grown into a resource hub that has impacted the Blind and Low Vision community across 42 states and multiple countries. Still, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the support from the Mountain Lakes Public Library and its Board of Trustees. All donations go to the MLPL but will directly support Braille Forward. Thank you for your support!
